This is Megan at PT. She is working on putting more pressure on her right leg. She was sort of swaying back in forth from putting all of her pressure on her left leg to all of the pressure on her right. Her therapist said she had a lot more strength than she did yesterday!
This is also Megan at PT. She is starting to walk. You may notice that she doesn't have a wrap on her leg like I have described before. They were trying to see if her foot got an better over the past couple days, but it continues to turn out. She is also using a cane to steady herself. This is just a tool, and will not be permanent.
This is Megan at OT a couple days ago. This therapist was filling in for her normal therapist, but was having her working on moving on her right arm. The pad has little wheels on it, so it allows Megan's arm to move easier. It is not moving much, but the wheels made it easier to see the smallest movements.
I haven't got any pictures from speech therapy. Megan did really well in speech today. She didn't need as many voice cues to answer yes/no questions, matching pictures with sentences, or reading comprehension. Megan is talking more in a conversational setting. I noticed a big change over the last two days. It is amazing how many more words are coming out. It is still hard for her to say the words out loud, and she has difficulty with everyday vocab words (ex: key, spoon, lamp, etc).
I'm not sure if this video will work, but I wanted to try to get something of her speaking. Megan received an Ipad today from a group of family friends. We put together this video to say thank you!
We also wanted to thank you all for your support with the MeganSTRONG bracelets! That's all for now! More tomorrow.
